Padre successfully completed the closure of former percolation ponds and former sumps at the site. Padre’s closure methodology was designed based on the Oilfield Surface Impoundment Closure Guidelines published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management. Closure activities included the characterization of the nature and extent of contamination, removal of free liquids and residual contamination, and restoring the site to previous grade. Based on the results of the closure activities, the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region issued “No Further Action” status for the site.
